DAY 2 : Rainbow Waterfall, Sungai Lembing

Rise and shine people!!! We were up and out by 4.45 am. So much for sleeping in during our trip. So much for waking up to the sunlight beaming into the time capsule through the glass pane. Oh wells. Gonna have to plan another trip to the Time Capsule Retreat. A different trip. One which really allows us to laze around, sleep in and just casually stroll to nearby places.

Ehemmmm coming back to topic. Our trip this time round was a pretty packed one. We planned it in such a way that we have to wake up early in the morning to get to places. Because we are just typical tourists who wants to experience everything so that we can show off/blog  tell people about the places we went during our visit here.

As I was saying, we woke up in the wee hours of the morning and cleaned up before our adventure. Brushed our teeth and pooped only because we had already bathed the night before and we're gonna get wet anyways, so no need to waste water and shampoo to bath lol. Our tour guide, Ah Teck came right on time at 5.30am. He brought us to the nearby food court (we knew about this already because the lovely Mrs Tan told us) to have breakfast.

What's the name of this dish, sorry I dunno. But it works like this.

From an array of choices, you choose what you like and fill up the bowl.

Wahhhh so busy huh

Then you leave your bowl on the table and tell the boss what you want. Cheng teng (clear soup), kono mee style (black/dark brown sauce), etc etc. End of thinking capacity since I have no idea what else you can order. Oh! And tell them if you want mihun, or mee or no noodles.

Ohaiiii my face that morning with mah breakfast. The one I'm holding on my left hand. I can't remember who's bowl I was holding on my right hand. Definitely didn't eat both bowls.

Quite many people up so early in this little town ar! Most of the people we saw here went to the waterfalls as well. Can make friends! Hahahha we didn't cause we're too shy. And probably still half awake to have a proper conversation

While waiting for our turn

Le bf's choice

My bowl. Which I so generously shared with my bf because I was too full and was too greedy. I took almost 2 of everything wtf

Good morning sun! Why, there's two of you this morning!

The Toyota Hillux we took to the waterfalls

Hello car!

Here's a guesshouse/inn right opposite the hawker stall. With another 2 more four-wheeled drive bring other people to the waterfalls

The bags under my eyes are designers and my cheeks are made of fishballs wtf

Looking better here. Lighting is so important kids!

With mum! And an alienated arm

3 of us! Mum looks the best here

So privileged to be this tall. I can stand inside the Hillux

Hai handsome

At 6.30am we departed from the food court and off we go to the rocky roads. Ah Teck mentioned that he takes his time to bring us there and also to show us some interesting plans. "First to start the journey but the last one to arrive" True enough, we started off first and 15 minutes into the journey, he stopped and got down. There we stood looking at the beautiful blue and pinkish skies. A few other teams drove passed us.

Ah Teck begin to make the stones stand. On a pile of sand and stones.

From the Canon 700D

Grainy pictures are from mum's iPhone 3GS

Asked for a photo of me to be taken with the standing rock and this is what I got fml

This was what I was actually aiming for. Thanks honey *sarcasm*

Enjoyed the view until the sky brightens

Sat in the Hillux for a while somemore until we see this sign and Ah Teck turned in.

Awkward pose and expression

Dipping our legs into the warm water. Ah Teck says he brought us there (at 7.10am) so that we can feel the warm water. Because if we were to go and experience the hill spring water at noon, we could say that the water's hot because the sun is shining brightly and not because it's a natural hot spring.

Our sexayyy legs. Nahhh more like his hairy legs and my fair legs TEEHEEE :D

Another great view of a stream. According to Ah Teck, it's dry season now. That's why there's less water

And then he introduced us to this cool plant! Damn cool yo. He plucked out one small branch and put it onto another branch and asked us to guess where is the little piece that he plucked and connected. I guessed 3 times and got them all wrong. Mum and Jia Wei also guessed and got it wrongly

It's really that amazing yo! I was trying to reconnect the small piece but I couldn't make it stick there wtf. Need skills one leh!

When all else fails, keep calm and take a photo

Eyyyy why so dark?

Under-exposed

With flash. Aiyer not nice. Bf really sucks at taking pictures  :P

My turn. Ahhhhh see so nice lehhhh. Watch and learn honey, watch and learn ;) #cheatone

Hehehehe like an excited little kid

Heart shaped leaves! <3 of course I brought one home. Just one XD forgive me mother nature

Sat in the vehicle though more earthy roads

After another short ride, we passed by XCAPE

It was a bumpy ride coming in here

From this picture, the little huts look like little mushrooms :D

His default pose

OOTD

From there, it's another 35 minutes on the rocky road to the stream before we climb up to the waterfalls

Using le sister's Instashoot

It's so bumpy I could only take these kinda pictures

Using the Canon 700D on sports mode

Finally we reached! And just like we were told, indeed we were the last to arrive

Crossing the stream

Shirley (my friend who went there a few weeks before we did) said that the water will reach right above our boobs. But as you can see it merely reached above our knees. This is due to the dry season okay? And not because of our height differences. Because Shirley is about 3cm shorter than me :D

Managed to get this clean shot without any humans because we're the last ones lol

Through a rocky path

And then through a mushy path

And then you will come to a toilet. The ONLY toilet. This is mum cleaning/flushing the toilet after using it

One of the beautiful sights we saw on the way up

Bringing you along with me wherever I go

Don't have to bend at all! Hahahahhaa *laughs and then cries*

We have to trek through small paths, very dangerous and only aided by a thin rope. Miss one step and it's bye bye to you. I'm dead serious

I see the lighttttt. So near yet so far

A super mini waterfall that got us excited. The few tour guides are all friends and they joke around with all of us (visitors) saying wo men dao liao! (we reached already!).... before continuing to say dao he liao (reached the river already)

Ah Teck on a big boulder getting ready to throw the seeds/plant/leaf?

He throws it! Anddddd

They turn round and around and around before hitting the ground. I remember we learned about this plant before in Science or some other science related subject. They reproduce when the seeds fall to the ground and grows.
(P.S bad photography skills by le bf)

It's a rocky and slanting way up

Oh and that's me slowly and carefully going up. Less photos of the challenging journey up because lives are more important than pictures okay?

We're really really close!

Andddd we're here!!! :D can you see it??!

Nearer and from the bottom. The water sprays down lightly and when the sun shines brightly, a rainbow is formed.

Looking all happy because of a certain 7-colour phenomena

Mum picked up a stick along to way to help her up the rocky paths

Super fail test shot wtf. Can you even tell what I'm trying to do here?

Exhaling rainbow. He's a unicorn!

 Meanwhile, dad is swimming

And posing

Rainbowwww this is during dry season. If it's during the wet season, the water will fill up higher and you can really swim in here.

Everybody resting on the rocks. Picture really doesn't do it justice. Cause this place where we sat is really steep and high up

Oh. When we were there during the supposedly dry season, we can sit up there without getting wet but then if you go during the wet season, you'll get a little damp from the water sprinkling/spraying from the waterfall

When we're still dry, watching people go into the water to get closer to the rainbow

A constipated and incomplete family photo. We miss you, jie! And as you can see, the rainbow is getting lower and lower at 10am

One with all of us in it :D

And then after a while of taking pictures and enjoying the view, Ah Teck asked if we wanted to get into the waters, to go nearer to the rainbow. At first I didn't really want to get wet but then I thought, after going through the challenging journey up the rocks to see the rainbow, what's getting a little wet? I'm there already! So might as well go all in or go home right?

Okay, so off we go into the waters, nearer to the rainbow

Seeing a rainbow so close! :D And finally able to take a photo with a rainbow cause you know rainbows are always so high up

Chilling with our new bff, Mrs Rainbow

Under the rainbow

While we were under the rainbow, dad had a pro photography moment

Okay, time to go back to dry land

Okay, it looks like I'm pushing him, but I swear I wasn't! I was.... umm... idk what I was doing

Some parts are slippery, some parts were very deep, etc. Hold on to your loves ones wtf

Our tour guide preparing our super extra yummy maggie cup! Extra yummy because we were super hungry and when you're hungry, everything tastes good :D

Our buffet lol

One with our very informative tour guide!

He's also very good at making rocks stand. If I have not mentioned this before already.

Contact him at 0169519339 or 0199446167 if you need someone to make rocks stand
*crickets noise*

For bringing us up to see the Rainbow Waterfall, Ah Teck charged us RM40 each *or is it RM50? The memories are vague because it was so long ago wtf #effectsofprocrastinating*

This price includes transportation to and from the place you stay, instant cup noodle, milo, experience and knowledge of a lifetime. Call Ah Teck if you need his services, his number is stated above and below and multiple times in this post. Leave me a comment if you have any extra questions :D

I have a crazy father. As you can see.

He was drying his shirt... Until he eventually, somehow and unfortunately dropped the stick. And we had to drive back to retrieve his now dry but dirty shirt.

After all that hiking and stuff, we are finally back at the Time Capsule for a nice camwhoring session warm shower before we have lunch and continue on with another adventure!

A mini photoshoot inside the capsule

Our very sibling like shot. So he says. Do we look alike?

Unfocused photos because of camera setting :(

I've got your back. Or short legs vs long legs

Can come here to take pre wedding photos d. Hahahah

A small round hole to look at the stars

Ze aircond for those who will die without it

A certain little kid who loves taking jump shots

DO NOT TRY THIS HERE! The rocky paths are dangerous and only crazy people will attempt this

IhavenoideawhatIwasdoing

Amazing wood cravings on the bench and tables

Back view of the time capsules!

2 toilets and 2 bathrooms! Super duper clean I tell you! Even cleaner than my tuition centre's toilet. Mrs Tan says that she/her helpers wash the toilets EVERY DAY!

Water heater, toilet paper and basic shampoo

Brightly lighted with modern day fluorescent lightbulbs. Trust me, it's bright enough (for those who experienced the old tungsten lightbulbs in the past) and feels as though they use fluorescent light.

View from le toilet

See this tamjiak piggie

Of Time Capsule's white cottage

Tables where guests can have barbecue, and yes, there is a barbecue pitt

Mini outdoor kitchen. Because who wants to go indoors to get seasoning for barbecues?

Oh! Notice the creative stools made of plastic bottles and wood

With the lovely Mrs Tan

Bidding farewell to the warm owners of the Time Capsule, Mr and Mrs Tan who has made this a pleasant journey, sharing information about Sungai Lembing and welcoming us to eat all the fresh fruits. We will be back! With more people! :D

A group picture with Mr and Mrs Tan

After that, we had a simple lunch in the small town of Sungai Lembing. I think this restaurant is very near/opposite the Balai Polis which is on your right just 50m from the big archway welcoming you into Sungai Lembing.

Then! We followed Ah Teck to his plantation which he kindly offered because he was free that day.

Do you know what this is?

Petai! *not that I like them*

Le bf trying his hand in picking petai

They use a long stick with a curved hook blade at the end of it to just hook onto the small branch and yank it down

A big bunch of fresh and bright green petai!

Petai trees

Yes, Ah Teck is a recognised tour guide. Call him at 0169519339. Tho no guarantees that he'll bring you to his orchard too. We were lucky he didn't charge us additional for this because he's just so kind :D

Duku langsat

And mangosteen!

For picking duku langsat and mangosteen, a different rod is used. The end of it has a little net to collect the fruits :D

Tadahhhhh this is how it looks like

Then you transfer them into the basket/pail

Excitement of a city girl - seeing an unpluck mangosteen on a tree

Me trying it. I'm not kidding when I say it's harder than it looks. ZOMG

[TIP] Try not to drop them and if you do, don't pick them up and put it into the basket. Because bruised mangosteen will be rubbery the next day. So, to avoid wastage, eat those which has fallen onto the floor when you yank them down immediately and save the rest for the next day or for sale :D

Mum trying her hand at it too

See how the pros do it - Ah Teck's father on the tree picking fruits

Would you just look at the meaty pearly white fresh flesh?!! Yum yum. Missing the juicy and sweet mangosteen

This is the po lei ba (glass flesh) mangosteen. *admires own photography skill lol*
I love this shot so much omg

This is what we youngsters do when you see a whole basket full of mangosteen! :D

Open the mangosteen by squeezing the sides

Be careful not to stain your clothes. They don't come off!

End of orchard tour

Heading back

But before that, we stopped by Ah Teck's sister's house because they has cute puppies!

Isn't he cute?

Look at them fluffy puppiesssss

That's the puppies' mummy. According to Ah Teck, many years ago, an ang moh couple left their (then) puppy there. Which is mummy doggie today.

Oh and right about this time, our main cameras ran out of battery T.T Canon 700D and my iPhone 4S. So we had to use mum's iPhone 3GS hence the grainy photos. And it was getting late and darker already. That's why the picture quality is worst :'(

With the whole litter

With all the puppies and mummy doggie!!!

Then they put the puppies into their little 'cage'

Ohaiiii you smiley happy puppies

Ngawwww they're so cute aren't they?

Last one I promise :S

THE END

Stay tuned to DAY 3 and Day 4 post. Pftttt idk when I'll blog about that... but let's keep a positive attitude okay?
