FOOD Trip with the zoo gang

Photo stolen from watermelon

Yes, like what the title says, FOOD TRIPPPPP!!!

Pros : Need I say more? FOODDDDDD!!!
Cons : It fell on the same date with the Nuffnang Food Fest. Sometimes I hit myself for not going to the FoodFest. But then I think, it's okay since both events are concerning food. But then again, FoodFest is free and the food trip isn't. But then!!! I came to a conclusion that I made the right decision because nothing beats going for a food tip with your friends right? although I missed the chance to meet some famous bloggers

Anyways, moving on to the subject! 5 of us, (Chicken, Watermelon, Ng, Kambing, Jeremy and me) yes, that's why we are the zoo gang went to Malacca/Melaka early in the morning and reached there in time for brunch. And of course, we wanted to eat the famous chicken rice balls but the line was already too long by the time we reached there (11 plus) and since we went for a day trip only, we decided not to waste time queuing up. And so we went to another famous place, [.........] nobody took note of the name of the place. How exactly do we know that the place is famous? Well, that's because the place is packed when we went, and after we finish eating and walked along Jonker Street (I think) and passed the shop again, the line extended from inside the shop to outside the shop.

Interior of the shop [Both pics stolen from VKEONG]

Quick google search : apparently this place is called Jonker Dessert 88.
(I didn't ask for permission to use his photos, but I'm hoping that he's alright with that because I credited him? If not, I'm willing to take them down)

Tips to finding this very shop : When you are facing the shop, there's a dessert stall on the left (ais kacang, cendol and other sweet, cold yums) and a noodle soup stall on your right. And then there's a pie tee stall further inside. Here, we had 3 bowls of noodles, 2 of them spicy looking what with the fierce red soup and the other one cheng teng (direct translation : clear soup). [Note : I didn't take any pictures cause everyone was eating already when I reached the table, but it is the middle and bottom left picture if you must see] Also, we had pie tee!!! :D *which is why I reached the table late - because I waited very long for the auntie to fill each one of the pie tees up veeeerrrrryyyyy slowwwwlyyyyy -.-

Got this nice picture from google >>> VKEONG

 Pie teeeee :D

[Tip] Everything here is self service. You make your order at the stall, wait for them to prepare, pay, bring to your own table. You're welcome *that is if you found this shop

We also had desert here. Something with soursoup and nata de coco and jellies, durian cendol also another bowl of i-dont-remember-what-because-i-didnt-eat-this-cause-i-only-eat-the-soursoup-one. It's so obvious which one I prefer right? Hahaha so transparent. Okay, since I don't eat cendol (because I don't like the green looking thingy and I don't like beans) I'll tell you what my friends think about the durian cendol. They said its very nice, so rest be assured, you can proceed to ordering a bowl. As to the other bowl, I have no comment and I ignored everything my friends said about it because I was too busy eating. Last but not least, ze soursoup and nata de coco and jellies!!! No need to think, just order and dig in! You all also confirm say nice one. If not got pay back guarantee! Hahahaha joking.

Me and my love <3

Another tip to finding this place, its very near this place [refer to picture below this]. Like 2 or 3 doors away only.

Yeah. We did some touristy stuff posing with the statue

Just some random shop with nice red drawings?

2nd stop! Klebang coconut shake!!! Can you sense my excitement here?!! I haven't heard of this place of this drink before this trip but it's soooo good that I crave for this everyday the weather is being a bitch, which is almost everyday.

3rd stop! Pork satay! Now that I think of it, I'm not sure which comes first, the satay of the coconut shake. But whatever! Again, I got google's help to find out the name, cause everyone's too busy eating to take note of the name of the shop. We went to Kedai Satay Xiang Ji which is opposite SRJK Pay Teck. Forgot how many sticks we ate and the price. And there's sort of a chamber where they grill the satays on the left side of the shop. So you don't leave the shop smelling like a pork satay yourself :D

Stole more pictures again. This time from j2kfm.com

Camwhoring in the car :3

4th stop. Nadeje Mille Crepe <3 After making rounds and rounds outside to get a parking, in which we didn't, we ended up having to wait in line for a long time for the sake of eating this mille crepe. I was really pissed off because I hate waiting. And that we had to wait for a table which can fit all 5 of us. [Tip : Go in small groups i.e 2 people or be prepared to sit separately if you don't want to wait. If you are in groups of 6 to 8 people or more, seriously, just split up] Nadeje is opened Monday to Sunday, 11am to 10pm

Or... You can just take away aka tapao the mille crepes. This way, you don't have to queue up super long and you get to go up to the glass display to pick out the flavour you want. You'll understand what I mean if you keep on reading.

Smilling and smirking because we saw a girl talking selfies. Which looks ridiculous fyi

Oh, and look, another outlet nearby. We wondered if the other outlet has lesser people or not but decided not to go since we waited for quite some time before we see this sign.

Finaleh!!! We get a seat, ordered and the food has arrived!!!

*According to kambing who went to Melaka few months back, he said we used to be able to walk up to the glass display to pick out the food we want. But during our trip there we embarrassed ourselves when 3 of us stood up from the table and walked towards the glass display to pick the crepes. Owh god the stares we got just by standing up.

The pale white one is the original, the yellow one cheese, the green one green tea, the last mille crepe is some berries thingy. I can't remember the name of the dessert in the triangle cup already. But what I do remember is that the berries - be it the strawberry, raspberry or the blurberry was really sour. Every one of it! Urghhhh But thankfully the crepes are super nice. Especially the original one :D

It's so cool that our bill comes up to exactly RM50 :D

*Do not walk to the cashier to pay your bill! We embarrassed ourselves (again!) by walking to the cashier. We learned this the hard way. Kambing told us that this was what he did back then (few months ago). So you just have to call the waiter to your table and ask for the bill, put money into the black book, receive change, and then leave with your face still in place. You're welcome.

5th stop, satay celup! We went to Ban Lee Siang!!! Not that I know of this place until that day. But what I do know when I checked in using Foursquare is that it's really famous? Like apparently people line up to eat there. We were early, say 5 or 6 something so we didn't have to queue up at all! :D We went in through the shop and sat at the back.

The system here : Pick up a metal tray and start picking up whichever or whatever and how many of the food that you want. It's mostly 2 or 3 same food on one satay stick. Like 3 fish balls on a stick or 2 or 3 button mushrooms on a stick.

Dip em in! And let it cook for a while

Camwhore while the rest are picking ze foods

When it's done (spicy satay gravy starts to simmer), take them out, camwhore and eat!

5 of us ate 71 sticks amounting to RM70 plus. Idk, I can't remember how much exactly

Last stop! Malacca town & Jonker street for camwhoring session and our last pit stop (see what I did there? Ohoho I'm a genius lol)

Part of the St Paul Church was under construction :(

OOTD

We actually took many shots with the building. Unsatisfied, we asked the guys to take another picture again and again.

"Yerrr not nice one? Take again" *happened twice

Then finally one smart ass said "Aiya, ownself not nice don't say the picture not nice la"

*thinking "I sendiri also know sendiri not nice la. It's your job to make me look nicer ma"

At least selfie with the building doesn't look too bad

We call her watermelon. Get why?

Sexy? Man for sale. Ladies? He's single. Any takers?

Can't decide? Nah another picture *adds bubbles*

Zoo gang!

Ze famous Melaka River!!!

At Jonker Walk

We had some snacks, but I didn't get the chance to take a picture before we swallowed them down. But here's one food I made a point to take picture with before we finish them

A little longer then we'll be posing with empty sticks only
The mess we made hehhehheh

And then we came here again. Please let me know if you know the name of this place

 Photobomb level : Asian

And then we decided that posing with the statues were too overrated so we head to a corner and camwhored.

Acting all emo and gayish

Looking as if they're waiting for their dates lol

THE END

*we were imitating watermelon because she keeps doing this :
