BIG, LARGE, HUGE, ENORMOUS, HUMONGOUS... balloons.....

aka HOT AIR BALLOONS! :D I got the chance to go to the International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta in Putrajaya back in March. OMG! Now only I'm blogging about it. #fail
This year is the 5th year running already and of course a lot of people also went la. Cause the admission fee is FREE. Cause the word FREE attract us, Malaysians like how sugar attracts ants. This event was only for 4 days [there's 2 sessions each day, the morning one at 7.30am and the evening one at 5.30pm] and I happened to go on the wrong day. And wrong time? 

Arrived there with dark clouds looming over our heads, after some time it rained (heavily T.T) and then it was okay already. Reach the place by around 4 something? (idk, can't really remember) And one of our main reasons to go there is because we heard that we can pay some money to sit on the hot air balloon. Which will go up in the air okay? Not just sit there at ground level. Zzzzzzz Wellllll, according to the website, visitors can start going up at 6pm but the counters will open at 5pm and tags (with numbers) will be given out 30mins before the counters open, which is at 4.30pm. [Only 300 tickets will be sold per session] So we thought that if we reach there by 4 it'll be okay but we were dead wrong man.



Turns out that the line was so long we initially couldn't see the end of it. Our eyes slowing trace the line and it already stretched halfway around a field. *Some people start queueing up as early as 4am wtf?* Okay lo, nemermind! We just hang around waiting for the hot air balloons to get inflated up (is that the right term anyway?) Some youngsters came up with the genius idea of renting simple equipments to make giant bubbles.

All it takes is only 2 sticks tied/connected to a thick and long piece of rope and dipped into the soapy solution. You just have to hold the sticks apart and wait for the wind to do its thing. Just remember to stand at the right position. Impossible to blow a giant bubble out using your own breathes. Trust me, I've tried. Felt so stupid.

One of the spectacular views of that day! Btw, we got to try out the big-golf-ball-look-a-like-thingy. It's called the Hamster Roll according to the website.

Grass sticking to the ball because it rained heavily before we got the the Extreme Zone. Its very stuffy inside there but other than that, its fun especially when you fall. One of the staff guided us across the area, and then we have to move the ball to the starting point. The adults watching over us told us that I looked very funny when I fell down because my body just sort of stuck to the walls while it rolled. They said they were laughing too hard to take a picture. -_-

Mountain Dew gave out free samples and also sold them at a very low price *happy*

So after that we were strolling around and then we spotted a spot with a big orange thing. Went closer to take a look and it was a hot air balloon ready to be inflated up :D Number 21 and 22 are from China. The orange one was a cat while the other one (Number 21) is a colourful one. Prepare to be amazed! HAHAHAHA

Believe in yourself

OMG the title is such a cliche -_- But you should really believe in youself. If you think you can't you most probably can't. You know how some people are born talented in either sports, arts, singing, acting, etc, and other things right? Well, I was one of the unlucky ones with no talent in any of the major fields. Singing? I'm no Jayesslee or Alex Goot and friends and definitely no Christina Aguilera. Uhhhh let's just say it's better for the world if I just stay in the shower. *envy of those with singing talent* humphhh!!! In terms of music, I can't play any instrument at all. Really admire Lee Hom who, apparently can play the piano, guitar, bass/electric guitar violin, drum, erhu, vibraphone, chinese flutes, guzheng, zhongruan, etc *I-have-no-idea-what-these-are-I-got-them-from-wikipedia.  

Next! Sports. ................................ Because of my height, *ehem* I can't do well in most sports like basketball, badminton, running (although I managed to do well in my schools' cross-countries ;) and etc. Acting. I can't act, but at least I know I'm better than Kristen Stewart. Most of the time I just burst out laughing when I try to show an angry face unless of course, when I'm really pissed off. And seriously, I have a big problem doing this I mean putting on a serious face after laughing. Drawing? Lemme show you har.... 

 This is a drawing of a ginger by the 14 year old me

I know, that does NOT look like a ginger at all. My sister is totally opposite of me, because she has a talent in drawing. So the younger me had asked for her help in many of my Pendidikan Seni (Art) assignments even since my primary school years. Muahhahaha!!! I think she agreed to help me because she just couldn't stand having her sister pass up a "drawing" like that.

And to think that I attended drawing classes since I was 3 till I was about 11 years old? And the above art piece was painted when I was about 10 or 11 years old? Damn fail case la okay? Greatest apologies to my parents who spend so much money and time to send me to art class. Yeah. And while I was painting that kind of childish paintings, my sister was creating things like these (she's only a year elder than me) :

And.... Behold! For my artworks in secondary school for Pendidikan Seni aka Art lessons.

This assignment is drawing a logo and I just looked for images in Google AND traced it from my computer screen. Hahaha

So, this year there's this drawing competition in school for the PRS (Pembimbing Rakan Sebaya) members and of course, they encouraged everyone to join to get koko marks. The theme was Snake because they thought of this contest before CNY and it is the year of the snake according to the chinese zodiac. Joining in the rat race, I participated. Typical Malaysian right there. Kiasu. So as usual, I looked for help from the book of answers, Google :D Below are the steps to drawing a snake for dummies.

Step 1 : Trace snake picture right off the computer screen

Step 2 : Paint the background and the snake

Step 3 : Paint the eye

Step 4 : Draw the scales and the mouth

Step 5 : Draw the nose and darken the eyes and the deep parts of the scales

Step 6 : Add a little white paint (when it's completely dry) for the shiny scales effect. I should have painted more white but I was too impatient to wait for the paint to dry. Washed and packed up my painting kit too soon.

Before I sign off, here is a drawing painting artwork that me and my sister did together when I was in Standard 6 and she was in Form 1. She drew the whole thing but we coloured it together using colour pencil. I think it's really nice :D
